New mural debuted at the Oakland Museum of California
We created a new mural experience for the exhibition "SuperAwesome: Art and Giant Robot" which opened April 19, 2014 at the Oakland Museum of California.
The piece is called "An Ode To California" and is 17 feet tall and 36 feet wide, and also covers the floor between the 3 walls. (Posters and prints available in our web shop) It is basically an emphatic, trippy appreciation of the grandeur of California - its geography and wildlife, and the inspiration they conjure.
The exhibition, which explores the presents new or recent works by California and international-based artists affiliated with Giant Robot, the influential magazine that brought Asian, trans-Pacific popular culture to mainstream audiences in the United States. Artworks in the exhibition represent a range of mediums, including mural art, sculpture, illustration, portraiture, large-scale installations, graphic novels, photography, and more. Featured artists include Rob Sato, Ako Castueara, James Jean, Amy Sol, Sean Chao, Deth P. Sun, Luke Cheuh, David Cho and more.
The exhibiton runs April 19 - July 27, 2014 If you are in the Bay Area - DO NOT MISS IT!

Giant Robot is proud to present End of Summer Never Ends, an art show featuring new works by kozyndan (featuring Leah Chun).
It’s been years since artist duo kozyndan has exhibited in their home city of Los Angeles. In fact, it was more than a decade ago since their first exhibition at the Giant Robot store which then prompted the opening of GiantRobot. We’ll be seeing a new range of work, from their paintings to their newer craft of sculpture. Their influence from their worldly travels will continue and they’ll also have a special guest artist and collaborator, Leah Chun who’s works are driven by popular culture. End of Summer Never Ends will continue the legacy of the artist duo.

"Black Bunny Blossom" cushion out now!
NEW kozyndan "BLACK bunny blossom" limited edition art cushion is available now from Click For Art.
We have released several cushions with them in the past and I have to say, they make a great product. The cushions are so soft and the print quality so fine.
As we prepared to create the silk screen edition of our "Bunny Blossom" earlier this year, our printer showed us a misprinted version of the print as a color proofing. In it he had printed the bunnies black instead of white. We thought the image rather striking, but it was just a one off misprint and never recreated… until now for this cushion! We dig it!
New Archival print Edition: "Spirit Animal Collective (Tinted)"
Now available in our web shop is a new limited edition COLOR version of our popular "Spirit Animal Collective" image.
"Spirit Animal Collective (Tinted)" is a limited edition of 150 signed and numbered archival digital prints on Somerset watercolor paper with deckled edges. Its 28 x 22 inches plus 3 inch white borders.
The print is based on kozy's 2009 drawing "Spirit Animal Collective". The drawing was the culmination of kozy's 4 year-long "Unknown Portraits" project, which involved Kozy's nearly obsessive search through old photographs in junk shops from Australia to Spain to Northern England to San Francisco to our own backyard in Venice Beach (and more!). Most of the drawings were the size of playing cards, but for the final artwork Kozy create a massive graphite rendering of a 1940's-era New Zealand primary school class photo. In it she imagined the camera to reveal the spirit animal within each of the students. This summer we decided to produce a colorized version reminiscent of old tinted photos (Dan's grandmother used to tint photos as a side job while raising her children) and this is the result.
